We recently developed, manufactured and installed the bespoke furniture and displays for Parkside’s new design studio gallery in Clerkenwell, London.
Parkside, which was acquired by Topps Tiles in 2017 specialises in natural stone, porcelain and ceramic tiling for commercial, hospitality and prestige residential projects. Its clients include architects and interior specifiers.
Our team relished in this exciting project which demanded Ripple’s comprehensive skills. Working with the client and appointed architects Feix & Merlin’s design intent concepts, we developed the designs, created detailed rendered illustrations and produced technical specifications in preparation for our manufacturing process.
The project utilised many of Ripple’s in-house facilities including design, cabinet making, engineering and paint finishing to manufacture all the furniture and display fixtures. These included the new showroom’s reception front bar with a canopy and seating, stepped display plinths, a design studio desk, a co-working ledge, various sized wall display shelf units and a showroom back bar for storage and catering.
The concept, based on an art gallery experience incorporates some unique and dramatic forms, combining a mix of materials including solid surface, plywood, and engineered frames powder-coated orange with matt lacquered grooved steps produced from Valcromat. LED Mood lighting to the bar’s underside and the birch-faced plywood strips and curved form is repeated in a small adjoining seating bench with circular cushions.
The result is a light-filled space created to be used a hub for the design community; an inspirational relaxed environment featuring a café, tile gallery, design studio with co-working desks.
