Making first impressions count at Dulux HQ

· News

Our client Dulux Decorator Centre (DDC) approached Ripple with a brief of creating a bespoke, visually impactful reception counter and 3D feature wall at their Head Office in Altrincham. The purpose of the design was to instantly give customers an insight into DDC’s quality and creativity from the moment they enter the office space.

Ripple has a long-standing relationship with DDC and have worked together on many successful projects including modular counters across their 180 stores estate, digital touchscreen totem displays, freestanding and countertop displays.

The head office project kicked off with sketch solutions, which once approved by the client, were turned into 3D visuals to give a real feel for the final product. The client was impressed by the 3D visuals, so the design team at Ripple went on to complete the complex technical drawings ready for manufacturing.

For this particular project, we developed a 3D feature wall which incorporated a range of colours from the Dulux palette. The form of the 3D feature wall provided a feel of the fluid, liquid texture of paint.

The counter was constructed from Colour Core, so no joints were visible. Moisture resistant MDF panels were then sprayed in vibrant Dulux paint colours to again, create a 3D effect at the counter to compliment the back wall. An illuminated lightbox with acrylic branding of the logo was featured on the front of the counter to really draw attention to the brand.

The client was delighted with the project, from the sketch solutions all the way through to the final manufacture and installation phase. The space will be used by employees, suppliers and customers, and we hope that the end result is enjoyed by every person who visits HQ.

This part of the project formed the last stage of a full office refurbishment scheme which has been a great success and we look forward to our continued work with DDC.
